Please join us at the Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado! Fort Collins is closer than you think to the Denver Airport. A shuttle ride of just over an hour, will take you right to the university campus where all CiviCon events will be happening. Fort Collins is also very easy to explore on foot, the main street through downtown is only a few blocks away from campus. In addition, there is easy to navigate local transportation, Uber or taxis that can take you to some of the local breweries and nearby attractions.
Venue Information
Please join us at the Lory Student Center for the main conference. This newly renovated building is the CSU campus' “connection central” – its heartbeat – where students, faculty, staff, and the world at large come to work, learn, play, and feel a part of the energy of Colorado State University’s community. The Lory Student Center features an assortment of flexible spaces of varying sizes including state of the art audiovisual equipment, stunning mountain views, an assortment of choices for meals, and even on-site brewery!
The Lory Student Center @ CSU is quite simply the perfect venue for CiviCON 2016.
Accommodation
As part of the registration you will have the opportunity to select accommodation in CSU student housing in Laurel Village. These very comfortable rooms are located right on the CSU campus, steps away from the conference venue. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and include a private bathroom and 2 single beds. You have the option of booking the room for yourself or sharing with another conference attendee. This is the preferred lodging option for all CiviCon events.
You can also book a nearby hotel if you would prefer. Click here to get a list of nearby hotels, the CiviCon venue is right in the center of the CSU campus. Some of these hotels might offer a discount for CSU visitors if you call and book direct.
Airport information
The Denver International Airport website will have all practical information you might need. From your arrival gate you will be directed to an underground train to go to the main terminal where the baggage claim and all transportation are located. The traditional meetup point in the airport is 'at the top of the escalator exiting the train', right in the center of the main terminal. Follow the signs to the shuttles & ground transportation to find the shuttle that will take you right to the university.
Transportation
Transportation from the airport to the CSU campus through shared shuttles/door-to-door vans is available from several different companies for less than $50 round trip. This is the prefered option as you will not need transportation in Fort Collins if staying in the CSU student housing.

If you would prefer renting a car at the airport, the drive from the airport to the conference venue is just over an hour long using the most direct route.

Finally, you cannot leave town without going through the Brewery Tours: with more than 20 breweries in town, each with it's own distinctive style, you're sure to find your match!
If you want to head south toward Denver, be sure to visit the world famous Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater or the Roxborough State Park for these breathtaking geological formations. Or if you prefer urban settings, you can stroll along the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall or visit the Denver Art Museum, the Downtown Aquarium or Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Finally, for the geeks out there, a visit to the local Micro Center is a must if you don't have one in your home town.
