Get Ready For CiviCon 2016!
We are excited to welcome you to the 2016 North American CiviCon in Ft. Collins, Colorado. With panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains and located just over an hour from Denver, Ft. Collins is an active, pedestrian-friendly city that has become one of the top craft brewing meccas in country. We would like to ensure that you have a great experience at CiviCon so please let us know if you have any additional questions before your arrival that are not answered below by emailing us at civicon2016@gmail.com.
Shuttle:
Colorado State University (Ft. Collins) is approximately a 1 hour and 15 min. shuttle ride from the Denver International Airport.
Option 1: Green Ride - 970-226-5533, press "0" to speak with an agent. Use code CSUCONF for $5 off each way (RT total = $48). Ask shuttle driver to drop you at Laurel Village.
Option 2: Super Shuttle - $45 RT rate/ $25 one way rate. http://groups.supershuttle.com/civicon2016.html Ask shuttle driver to drop you at Laurel Village.
Parking:
If you are staying on campus, parking is included. When you check into your room, give your license plate number and they will direct you where to park. The closest conference parking lot to Laurel Village is at Westfall Hall. Please refer to the Campus Map to see the conference parking lot options.
If you are not staying on campus, you will either need to purchase a parking permit ($10 per day) from Parking Services at 1508 Center Avenue (open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4pm), or park in a Pay-to-Park metered area. Pay-to-Park areas are $1.50 per hour. You will enter your license plate information at a kiosk located in the parking lot. Please refer to the Campus Map for Pay-To-Park locations. Parking is not enforced after 4pm or on weekends.
Lodging:
Lodging will be in Laurel Village, Pinion and Alpine Halls, in the north western corner of campus, near the intersection of Laurel St. and South Washington Ave. When you arrive, proceed to the Pavilion located in between Alpine and Piñon Halls. The Pavilion desk will open at Noon on Monday, May 30 and be open from 7am - 11pm during the remainder of CiviCon. There is an on-call staff member that will come to the desk to check in guests that arrive outside of that time. The on-call phone number is 970-567-6323 and will be listed on the door also. Towels, sheets and pillows are provided but you should bring you own toiletries, including soap, shampoo, alarm clock, hair dryer, etc. Checkout is at 10am and bags may be left with the Pavilion front desk if you need to keep your bags somewhere safe between checking out and departing campus.
Meals:
If you are staying on-campus, breakfast and lunch are included. (During the Sprint, dinner is also included). Meals will be in the Corbett dining hall, just east of Pinion & Alpine residence halls. There are many buffet stations in the dining hall offering a wide variety of food for each mealtime. Menus.
Corbett Dining Hall hours are: Breakfast 7:00-9:30am, Lunch 11:00am-1:30pm, Dinner 5:00-7:00pm. Note: If you are not staying on-campus, you may still eat in the dining hall. Meals are $13.10 and can be paid at the door.
During the Conference portion only (June 2 & 3): lunch will be provided in the Lory Center (rather than in the Corbett Dining Hall) for all attendees and will include vegetarian and vegan options.
There will be a social gathering for all attendees on Tuesday, June 1 at the Ramskellar Pub, on the first floor of the Lory Center from 6-8pm. Attendees will be responsible for purchasing their own food and drink. View the menu.
There will be a reception from 6:15-7:45pm on June 2 in Ballroom C/D on the third floor of the Lory Center for all conference attendees. Light hors d’oeuvres (including vegetarian and vegan options), wine and local craft beer will be provided.
Miscellaneous:
Laundry services are available in Pinion and Alpine Residence Halls. Machines are not coin operated, you must add credit to your meal card at a “Ram Cash” station located at the dining hall. It is $1.25 to wash and $1.25 to dry.
All buildings on campus are non-smoking. You must smoke outside at least 25 feet away from any door or window.
Wi-Fi will be available during CiviCon. In the residence halls and for the Training and Sprint you will need to connect to "csu-housing-guest". In the Lory Center and for the Conference you will need to connect to "csu-guest". Once connected, open a browser and type in any url. You will be directed to an authentication page for CSU where you need to agree to the terms before using the wi-fi.
Getting Around:
It’s easy to tell the direction you are going in Ft. Collins if you remember that the mountains are always to the west. Ft. Collins is a pedestrian friendly city. View the Campus Maps.
Colorado State University’s eastern edge is along College Blvd. College Blvd. will take you into Old Town where there are many restaurants and shops. From Laurel Village (where the Training, Sprint and all lodging will be) to the far end of Old Town is 1.5 miles.
You may also take the MAX bus line into Old Town. You can walk to the Laurel Street Station on College Ave, and take a short ride on the MAX bus line into Old Town. $1.25 for a single ride. You can also take the Around The Horn bus from Laurel Station (FREE, near Laurel Village) to University Station on College Ave. From University Station, hop on the MAX line to get to Old Town. *Note the Around The Horn bus only runs every 30 minutes in the summer.
Recycled Cycles will rent out bicycles for $15/day. They are located in the Lory Student Center on the first floor and their phone number is 970-491-9555.

The Ramskellar Pub is located in the Lory Student Center on the first floor. It is a brewery and restaurant. We have rented out the space and attendees are responsible to purchase their own food and drink. Menu.
Conference: June 2 & 3, Lory Student Center
The Conference will be at the Lory Student Center, 3nd floor, near the center of campus. Registration will be near the top of the main stairs outside the Ballroom. If you are walking over from Laurel Village (lodging) head south to Plum St. and proceed east down the road and around the lawn/pond area. The Lory Center is ½ mile from the Laurel Village.
